About Rhett

Rhett Kipps is a barrister practising in Brisbane, Queensland, focused on finance and banking disputes, insolvency litigation, Corporations Act proceedings, and commercial litigation more broadly.

Background

Rhett was called to the Bar in 2017. Before that, he practised as a solicitor from 2008, predominantly in contested commercial litigation — including contractual disputes, insolvency, and banking and finance matters. That background as a solicitor informs how he approaches disputes at the Bar: with an eye to how a matter will actually be run and won, not just argued in the abstract.

He holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Information Technology (with distinction), and has completed the Insolvency Education Program through the Australian Restructuring Insolvency and Turnaround Association (ARITA).
